We all know about the rumors of Amy being on crack and we have all seen the pictures, but in thi sartcile it says that duirng a recording in a studio in England she just decided to leave and strip down to her bra and go for a run.... I feel really bad for her and all the other celebs who have addiction problems and the fact that they are famous we all know about their probelms and see pictures of them But I guess that is what caomes with stardom.... I mean look at Brittney Spears she has had so many break downs and almost all of thme it seems like have been public, can you imagine. When I was younger I always thought about what it would be like to be famous and I thought that I would like to be one day but now that I am an adult I would not want to be famous at all. For the simple fact of losing your privacy it seems like. How whould you like the whold to know your every move? It would be horrible, or to even have rumors made up about you, how horrible. It makes me wonder though that if that fact of being famous and not hvaing any privacy is what leads to these young stars to drug or alchol addictaion, just trying to escape reality for a little bit, or maybe the fame leads to their break downs that all of us have witness at one time or another, like poor Mariah Carey's on MTV, or more recent Paula Abdul's carzy behavior. Not to mention the party girls gane crazy like Paris and lindsey...... There is a huge laundry list of celebs personal problems that have become publc, and my advice is to these stars is: Try and get a hold of yourself because many young children look up to you and you are setting horrible exmaples!

Mehdi Shahbazi Talk.....

I am in team dynamite and we talked about the story of Mehdi Shahbazi in our presentation. I just wanted to say something about how some people did not think he went about striking against Shell Oil. I know that a hunger strike is quite an extreme, but that is what he chose to do. He was very passoniate about this and wanted to get hos point across. It takes someone like Shahbazi to take a stand and do soemthing none of us would do. That fact that we are taliking about him and his story and his cause is a start to all of us taking some kind of action. We are all sick and tired of the gas prices and we all should be doing more about it, I am not saying that everyone needs to go on a hunger strike but if every body did a little bit, that could help. I really have a lot of respect for Mr. Shahbazi and his cause and I wish there were more leaders in this world such as himself.

My lil Sis

I am so very behind on blogging, I have been super busy but I am making a come back! This post is going to be dedicated to my younger sister because she has just begun an incredible journey. My sister 21years and is a certified massage therapist. She has recerntly been hired by the Steiner Company, which is a company that owns 150 spas on different cruise lines. Their main headquarters are in England and that is where they train all of their new employees. So two weeks ago my baby sis (who has barely ever left Cali let alone the country) left for England. I am so very excited for her because she is going to be seeing the world!!!! So for the last two weeks she has been trainning at this company and learning how to sell their spa products and such, and right now at this very moment she is off to Finland! The company felt that she was ready to leave on her ship, so off they sent her... She is a little nervous but I know she will be fine. This is going to be such an amazing expeience that she will carry with her for the rest of her life. She will be working on the cruise ship for 8 months. This summer she will be doing a cruise that goes all over Scandinavia.... Then in fall she does a cruise that does New England and Cananda..... and then she ends her journey doing a cruise in the Caribbean. I am sooo very jealous but excited for her at the same time. Just wantd to share with everyone, I am so PROUD OF HER!!!

To the Best Dog Ever!

Hello everyone, I know thatr this post is really late, but better late than never.... right? As aome of you know I was in Chicago last wee taking care of som family business. I returned home last yesterday and when I returned home I was told some pretty upsetting news. Our family's dog had passed away saturday morning. His name was Babe and he was 13 years old. I remember the first day we got him from the SPCA, he was just 6 weeks old. I remember when we were looking at all the dogs trying to pick one out, he was the only dog in his pen not jumping aorund and barking, he just stood there with a sad look on his face with one paw up on the gate. It was love at first sight, so my family brought him home. I don't know if anyone else has ever felt this way about a pet, but it is really funny how your family's pet can become almost a family memeber, it just does not feel the same without him in our lives. He was an amazing dog and he will be truly be missed. I just wanted to share this poem with everyone in memeory of Babe.

"They called him Rags"
By Edmund Vance Cooke

They called him Rags, he was just a cur
But twice on the Western Line,
That little old bunch of faithful fur
Had offered his life for mine.

And all he got was bones and bread
And the leaving of soldiers' grub,
But he'd give his heart for a pat on the head,
A friendly tickle or rub.

And Rags got home with the regiment,
And then, in the breaking away--,
Well, whether they stole him, or whether he went,
I am not prepared to say.

But we mustered out, some to beer and gruel,
And some to sherry and shad,
And I went back to the Sawbones School,
Where I was an undergrad.

One day they took us budding M.D.'s
To one of those institutes
Where they demonstrate every new disease
By means of bisected brutes.

They had one animal tacked and tied
And slit like a full-dressed fish,
With his vitals pumping away inside
As pleasant as one might wish.

I stopped to look like the rest, of course,
And the beast's eyes leveled mine;
His short tail thumped with a feeble force,
And he uttered a tender whine.

It was Rags, yes, Rags! who was martyred there,
Who was quartered and crucified,
And he whined that whine which is doggish prayer
And he licked my hand--and died.

And I was no better in part nor whole
Than the gang I was found among,
And his innocent blood was on the soul
Which he blessed with his dying tongue.

Well! I've seen men go to courageous death
In the air, on sea, on land!
But only a dog would spend his breath
In a kiss for his murderer's hand.
And if there's no heaven for love like that,
For such four-legged fealtly--well!
If I have any choice, I tell you flat,
I'll take my chance in hell.

A lil late.....

I know this post is a lil late :( I totally forgot about it on Friday and I have been super busy so I am doin it now...... Spitzer....

Recently in the news I have been hearing a lot about Gov. Spitzer and his prostitute situation. Spitzer has resgined as govenor, and gave speech and apologized for his actions. I could not help but to look at his poor wife the whole time feel sorry for her. How embarrassing this all must be for her. I know that men cheating on their wives happens all the time. But when you are a public figure like that, seriously I don't understand how the govenor didn't think of his wife, family and his career before doing what he did. i also know that if I were his wife i would not have been standing by him during that speech and I would definitely left him for his embarrassing and disguisting actions. I really do feel sorry for his wife, kids and family for having to go through that. Not just govenors or public figures but all people really need to think of others before conductiing such actions as he did. I mean seriously I don't understand how people can be so selfish. And feel bad for the family because it would be hard enough to find out that your dad or husband did such a thing, but it makes it even worse when the whole world has found out as well.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://jennylasthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/03/gov-spitzer.html' title='Gov. There are still many protests going on today but i can't recall something to that extreme. part of Berkeley's huge success was the population of supporters. That is how they made a huge impact was by sitting on campus day in and day out during the whole movement. Now the question could something of that magnitude happen today? I really don't know what I think, I don't if that same thing could happen today, with the currant technology. I feel like we are so very spoiled by computers and the internet, that people don't do as much in person. ehat I mean is instead of the protestes in the sixtites sitting day in and day out to spread the word through campus, of that happened today, they would have probabaly just sent out emails, and posted blogs.. and so on. It kinda saddens me because I feel like technology has made many things inpersonal today........

Oh Boy......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWLb27KnnTY

So I was emailed this clip that is on youtube.com and it is from President Bush's press conference on FISA. I am sorry but I could not help but laugh. I have watched the president talk many times on TV, and I just have a VERY hard time taking him seriously. While watching this clip I kept thinking to myself, does he even know what he is talking about or saying? Reason being from his nonverbal gestures, for example smiling at inappropriate times, his word choice, and his comment at the beginning of the conference when he responds to that mans questions. I mean come on..... I hate public speaking and I know that I am not very good at it, I get very nervous and I know so do a lot of other people, but I really don't think the president's problem is just nerves.I just don't feel like he talks like a leader, he just does not seem like he has any idea at all about what he is talking about. When you hear the leader of your Country speak you want him/her to come across as powerful, strong, knowledgeable, and intelligent. For example when I listen to Obama speak I really feel like he knows what he is talking about and and presents himself like a leader and I am confident in the information and issues he presents. Anyway....check out the clip and let me know what you think. (I am not trying to come across as disrespectful to the President I am just being honest and giving my opinion.........)

No More Recruiting in Berkeley?

The other day i came across an article about how Berkeley's city council wants to close down the Marine Corps. station down, which is located next to the UC Berkeley campus. People in the city of Berkeley don't want to stop the recruitment of young people for the Iraq war, which is a war that majority of the city is strongly against. So this all makes me think of freedom of speech, and doesn't the Marine Corps. have a right by the first amendment to say what they want to say? and give infornamtion they want to give? This article also mentioned that "the no child left behind act," requires elementary schools to all recruiters on their campus or they lose federal funding...... So does that mean if the Marines are asked to leave Berkeley will have funding cut? I am really curious to hear others oppions on this matter. I do believe that because of the freedom of speech recruiters have a right to say what they want and give out what infornmantion they want but i don't think recruiting should be a required or forced, if that makes any sense at all...... What do you think about it?

Death Penalty or not?

In just coming upon this article from the New York Times (Click on my title of this post "Death Penalty or not" to read the New York Times article, I don't know why but it linked it there LOL) about the six men are going to trial for thier invovlment in 9/11. Take a look at the article and let me know what you think. It made me think about the death penalty in general and I really don't know how I feel about it. I think that people who committ horrible cirmes should face the ultimate punishment, which in this case is the death penalty, but at the same time I began to think about how do we ever really know if they did do it? I am not just talking about these six men, I am talking about anyone put on death row. How do we know they weren't set up, were they forced to say certain things or give certain names because they were tourchered of threatened? Last week was our first Fee Speech class was held. In our first class we wacthed a video clip from a BYU portest they had on campus. Some students were portesting Vice President Dick Cheney visiting their campus. The students wanted to be able to express their feeelings about Mr. Cheney and his views. In order to do so they had to be approved by the school to do so, once they were approved they were given a certain amount of time and a certain amount of space to say what they needed to say. Does that sound like "Free Speec," to you? The students wanted to pactice their free speech rights and were allowed to speak their mind but only when BYU told them where and when they could do it. After watching this clip I then learned that a lot or all college campuses have a certain area for you can come together to speak your mind, but you do have to be approved to do so. This does not sound like "free speech," to me, it sounds like "regulated speech." I think college campuses are a perfect plece for people to come togetehr and let theri feelings be told or shown. Our whole college experience is to embrace diversity and be able to dicuss certain issues with fellow students. My question is what is the actual definition of Free Speech, and why if it gives of the freedom to express our feelings and emotions, does it have to be regulated?
